Like to do it again...
Engagement
Good having a dance option
Older kids supporting younger kids and loved being in the Junior Rooms
Prior knowledge
Good class numbers
Variety of activities
Sharing Assembly was cool
Assembly to set the tone for the day
Build up to the day - expectations were set in place
Big kids started straight away Googling to plan
Time allocation to event was good for day
Agreed we would love to repeat as long as we get the timing right!! Christmas one :)
Couple of kids were disappointed because of their options
Games were more appropriate for Seniors so challenged having Yr 1- 3's
We just wanted to share that 3 things went missing from classrooms 19 & 20 (NE & Year 1). All of the Playdough,
a few named smiley face magnets from the whiteboard and a packet of felt marker pens. There may have been some tutu fingers in our presence; perhaps we can talk to the students about leaving the classroom how they found it?
Activities they thought they couldn;t manage they could
Timing - not totally ideal
Being in a single cell was challenging for some especially if they weren't with their peers
The time was a bit rushed
How can we work in shared lunch better? There's rich learning to be done in sharing of meal too :)
Half of the students (a range of Year 3, 4 and two seniors) making salt dough were not familiar with measuring wet and dry ingredients and needed support identifying a half cup measure from the whole cup as this affected the consistency of their dough.
