I am excited to join P.S. 214 as the Principal, for the 2023-24 school year. Prior to this role, I served as the assistant principal at College Point Collaborative and as a teacher at BELL Academy and The Scholars’ Academy. Throughout my career in education, I have served as a teacher’s assistant, substitute teacher, teacher, and administrator in grades ranging from pre-kindergarten to high school in three different states including both general education and ICT settings. With all these experiences, the seventeen years I have spent in New York City, particularly those in District 25 have been the most rewarding. In preparation for my current role, I received a B.A. in History from Providence College, an MAT in Social Studies Education from the University of New Hampshire, and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Brooklyn College.
I look forward to joining the P.S. 214 family and continuing the tradition of achievement of this school community. It is my goal as an educator to help all students learn and grow as students as well as people. While it may be easier to measure academic success, it is equally important to invest in the social-emotional growth of the children who attend P.S. 214. We strive to prepare students for academic and personal success as they grow into young adults.
When I am not at P.S. 214, I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes three young children. As a family, we enjoy traveling, spending time at the beach, and attending many youth sporting events and performances.
I look forward to working with and supporting the students, families, and staff of P.S. 214 to maintain and enhance the elementary school experiences of our students. I aim to forge bonds with the parents and students.
