Clothilde Boreux

Bonjour, je m’appelle Clothilde Boreux et je suis partie en Suède pendant deux semaines en novembre.

Ma famille d’accueil était vraiment typique. Leur maison, en bois, était traditionnelle et offrait un environnement totalement inédit pour moi. Ils parlaient très bien anglais, mais j’ai rapidement constaté un écart entre nos niveaux respectifs, ce qui rendait la communication un peu compliquée au début. Cependant, ils ont vite compris que j’étais moins à l’aise, et nous nous sommes tous adaptés.

En Suède, tout est très moderne, ce qui a été un véritable dépaysement pour moi. À l’école, j’ai constaté que les élèves suédois avaient des cours d’anglais bien plus avancés que ceux que nous avons en Belgique. Un autre point positif à propos de l’école, c’est que les repas sont gratuits à l’heure du déjeuner. J’aimerais vraiment que l’on mette en place ce système en Belgique.

Cet échange m’a beaucoup appris. J’ai développé une plus grande ouverture d’esprit et j’ai constaté une nette amélioration de mon niveau d’anglais. Je m’exprime maintenant plus clairement. J’ai aussi eu l’opportunité de faire de belles rencontres. Partir à l’étranger m’a permis de grandir et d’évoluer personnellement. Je recommande vivement à tous les élèves de participer à un échange Erasmus.

Hello, my name is Clothilde Boreux, and I went to Sweden for two weeks in November.

My host family was very typical. Their house, made of wood, was traditional and offered an entirely new environment for me. They spoke very good English, but I quickly noticed a gap between our levels, which made communication a bit tricky at first. However, they soon realized that I was less comfortable, and we all adapted.

In Sweden, everything is very modern, which was a real change of scenery for me. At school, I noticed that Swedish students had much more advanced English lessons compared to what we have in Belgium. Another positive aspect of the school is that meals are free at lunchtime. I really wish this system were implemented in Belgium.

This exchange taught me a lot. I’ve developed a greater open-mindedness and noticed a clear improvement in my English. I now express myself more clearly. I also had the chance to meet some wonderful people. Going abroad allowed me to grow and evolve personally. I highly recommend that all students participate in an Erasmus exchange.
