Je m’appelle Giulia, j’ai 17 ans, et j’ai participé à un programme Erasmus de deux semaines au Danemark. Mon objectif principal pour cet échange était d’améliorer mon anglais et de rencontrer des personnes de mon âge ayant des intérêts similaires. Initialement, j’avais choisi la Finlande, un autre pays nordique, mais j’ai finalement opté pour le Danemark sur les conseils de M. Coheur.

Je dois dire que je suis très enthousiaste à propos du Danemark et j’aimerais y retourner. Mon séjour s’est déroulé en internat plutôt qu’en famille d’accueil, ce qui a été une expérience intéressante. Nous étions trois autres Belges dans une aile de l’internat qui nous était réservée, ce qui nous permettait de profiter de notre intimité tout en favorisant les interactions sociales.

Mon premier souvenir marquant du séjour au Danemark est ma première soirée avec ma correspondante. Dès le début, nous avons établi un bon rapport, ce qui a rendu cette soirée inoubliable.

Je peux facilement convaincre un camarade de tenter l’aventure Erasmus grâce aux nombreuses opportunités qu’elle offre : responsabilisées, gagner en assurance, acquérir une plus grande indépendance et devenir plus autonome. Ma maîtrise de l’anglais s’est considérablement améliorée, notamment en ce qui concerne l’accent et les expressions idiomatiques.

J’aimerais faire un autre séjour Erasmus, peu importe où il se déroulerait ; ce qui me plaît dans cette expérience, c’est le contact avec des cultures différentes et la découverte de nouvelles manières d’aborder l’enseignement. En effet, j’ai remarqué que le système scolaire danois était très différent du système belge : l’élève est davantage encouragé à prendre ses propres initiatives et à utiliser l’informatique pour apprendre. Il doit aussi être capable de travailler par lui-même.

Hello ! My name is Giulia, I am 17 years old and participated in a two-week Erasmus program in Denmark. The main goal of this exchange was to improve my English and meet people my own age who share my interests. I initially chose Finland as another Nordic country, but ultimately decided on Denmark based on Mr. Coheur’s recommendation.

I must say that I am very excited by Denmark and would love to return. I stayed at a boarding school instead of living with a host family. This was an interesting experience because we shared a wing of the dormitory with three other Belgian students. This arrangement gave us privacy while promoting social interactions among ourselves.

The most memorable moment of my time in Denmark was meeting my Danish pen pal for the first time. From the outset we hit it off well, making the evening unforgettable.

I could easily persuade a fellow student to try an Erasmus experience because of all the opportunities it provides. These include developing responsibility, confidence and independence. My English skilss have greatly improved, particularly my accent and idiomatic expressions.

I would love to go on another Erasmus exchange, wherever that may be. What I enjoy most about this program is interacting with people from other cultures and learning about different approaches to teaching. I have observed that the Danish education system is quite different from the Belgian one. Students are expected to take initiative and to use technology to learn. They must also be able to work independently.
