In this project I created a lemon cake and a candied lemon plate. Focused on the aromatics and taste of citrus, I tried to create something that incorporated it in all aspects of the final product.

Scent: citrus

In this project I tried to make a set of smelling boxes (coffee, vanilla cake, bread/ yeast) to give off the idea of a cafe setting. This project was also paired with an audio soundtrack that incorporates white noise such as soft murmuring, coffee machine noises, glasses clinking, and soft lofi music. I also encased these scents into small boxes that open and close so you can choose how much scent comes out.

Scent: Ground coffee, vanilla extract, yeast

In this project we were tasked to create a mask/ face covering. I chose to make a mask out of a dryer sheet. Inspired by complaints of people smelling their own breath, I created this mask as a solution. The scent of this material is a light floral in nature. You can use this mask to slip under your existing mask or you can wear it on its own. I tried to imitate the folds on a real mask just so it can conform to the face better.

Scent: Light Floral/ Geranium

For this project I decided to create a set of wearable artifacts. My character I chose was a "bad baker." So I made a set of bread earrings from polymer clay. This was shaped and baked and painted with diluted coats of acrylic paints and then covered with a clear coat. The scent was applied to the artifact itself as well as the paper backing used to hold the earrings.

Scent: 1mL Sweet, 0.5mL Smoke

For this project I was inspired by one of the audios to create a set of jewelry. One of the audio tracks were very aquatic in nature to me so I decided to emphasize that. In this set I created a set of bracelets and a necklace inspired by native jewelry that is very prominent in the pacific islands. I used a dry clay to shape and carve into it, a leather cord, and glass beads. Scent was applied to the necklace itself.

Scent: 1mL Green, 0.5mL Skin, 0.5mL Dark Wood

In this project I wanted to recreate my mother's closet. I wanted to focus on the space itself by filling it with comfort object and soft plush toys and pillows that I would have brought into the space when I was a kid. I wanted to create a comfort sausage as well. It can be seen next to the brown stuffed toy. In this sausage is scrap jean material to make it lumpy and kind of bumpy.
