Program Description:

- Discounted monthly bus pass

- 50% discount off the regular cost of a monthly bus pass to eligible residents.

-Discount applies to all dependents and is valid for 12 months

Eligibility Requirements:

• Canadian citizens, permanent residents, newcomers who have applied for permanent residency, sponsorship, or refugee protection in Canada
• Residents of the Region of Peel
• International students and foreign workers NOT eligible
• Must have a net household income that is equal to or lower than listed in the following table: https://www.peelregion.ca/help/discounted-bus-pass/

What You Will Need to Apply:

1. Proof of residency (eg. utility bill, lease agreement, driver’s license, etc).
2. Proof of total family net income
3. Proof of legal responsibility for all dependents listed on the application

MiWay Freedom Pass

Program Description:

Your Freedom Pass allows students 12-14 years old to ride for free on MiWay within Mississauga and free participation in public swims at City operated pools from July 1 to August 31, 2020. All you have to do is click here or go to any City of Mississauga community centre to complete an application form, then submit your completed form in person at your local community center (along with one piece of identification) and have your photo taken to create your personalized pass

• Must be a resident of Mississauga age 12-14
• Must apply after May 1st

Program Description:

TransHelp provides accessible transportation to Peel residents with disabilities who aren't able to use public transit for all of their trips.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Eligibility is considered on a case-by-case basis, and is based on the resident experiencing barriers to using conventional public transit some or all of the time.

You may be eligible to use TransHelp if:

1. You live in the Region of Peel (Brampton, Mississauga or Caledon).
2. You have a permanent or temporary disability, as defined by the Ontario Human Rights Code including but not limited to physical, sensory, cognitive or mental health disabilities.

When you apply for TransHelp, you must provide medical information and the reasons why, or barriers you experience, that prevent you from using conventional public transit.

Submitting your application online is more convenient.

As part of your application to TransHelp, you may be asked to attend an in-person assessment meeting.

The assessment meeting will help TransHelp staff understand your ability to take conventional public transit and if you require specialized public transit. An in-person assessment can help TransHelp determine the right level of service for you.

You will be asked to come in to the TransHelp Administration office at 2 Copper Road, Brampton, and will meet with a licenced professional.

If an in-person assessment is required, TransHelp will call you at the number provided on your application. Please advise us if you will have a companion travelling with you, or require materials or communications in an alternate format.

What You Will Need to Apply:

1. Proof of residency (eg. utility bill, lease agreement, driver’s license, etc).
2. Proof of legal responsibility for all dependents listed on the application.
3. A signed application form (by either a doctor or a occupational therapist).
