The Audio Video Production pathway provides students with hands-on training in filmmaking, broadcasting, photography, audio production, digital storytelling, and content creation. Using industry-standard equipment and software, students develop the technical and creative skills needed to produce professional-quality media projects while gaining real-world experience through collaborative and client-based productions.
Our program prepares students to be career-ready and business-ready for opportunities in film, television, social media marketing, broadcasting, corporate communications, and other media industries. Students graduate with professional portfolios, workplace skills, and industry-recognized Adobe certifications, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Visual Design, Visual Effects, and Motion Graphics, giving them a competitive advantage as they pursue college, certifications, or careers in the creative media field.

Christopher Valdes has had a passion for cameras and visual storytelling since the age of 13, when he joined his middle school yearbook club. What began as an interest in capturing moments quickly grew into a lifelong passion for photography and video production. Over the years, that passion evolved into a career when he partnered with a friend to start a media production business, gaining valuable real-world experience in content creation, client relations, and professional production workflows.
Today, Christopher serves as an Audio/Video Production instructor where he is dedicated to helping students discover and build upon their own passions. Through hands-on learning, industry-standard certifications, and real-world production experiences, he prepares students to be both career-ready and business-ready for opportunities in film, television, broadcasting, social media marketing, and digital media. His goal is to inspire the next generation of creators by showing students how a passion can grow into a rewarding and successful career.

McDonalds Texas Invitational
Participate in The McDonald’s Texas Invitational! this is a premier high school basketball tournament that brings together top teams from across Texas to compete at a high level. Over three days, our Audio/Video Production students gain real-world experience by livestreaming games to audiences around the world while producing social media content, highlights, interviews, and behind-the-scenes coverage, developing valuable skills in sports broadcasting, live production, and digital media.
Students gain hands-on experience in live sports broadcasting by operating cameras, directing productions, creating graphics, and producing content in a fast-paced environment.
Working the tournament helps students build teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills while meeting the demands of a large-scale live event.
Students leave with professional-quality content for their portfolios and valuable experience that prepares them for careers in sports media, broadcasting, content creation, and digital marketing.
