Google Forms

Google Forms, which is part of our Google Suite, is an app you can use for free to create forms, questionnaires, surveys, and quizzes.  It will automatically gather the data into a spreadsheet and even analyze it into charts for you.  Join us for this virtual training session to learn how to use this valuable tool.  Contact Sonya Brieske for more information.

Google Sites

Did you know we have a free website available to us?  Google Sites is another great app available to us from our Google Suite.  A website builder with NO HTML or coding knowledge needed!  At PVCC, it's already being used for newsletters (such as this CTLEE Creative Connection site you're reading now), student ePortfolios, department sites, and more.  Join us for this in-person session to learn how to create and manage a Google website.

Contact Sofia Pijanowski for more information.

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT

3-2-1 Teachnologies Workshop:  Fostering Reflection through ePortfolio and Journal Assignments

Workshop term:  April 8 - 28, 2024

An asynchronous, online workshop offering 6 FPG hours!

In this 3-2-1 workshop, we will discuss the different ways these assignments can be used to engage students and deepen their knowledge of course concepts through guided reflection. Join us to discover how ePortfolios and journals support metacognitive skills and higher-order thinking - all while helping students meet general education outcomes and 21st-century workplace expectations! During the workshop, you will personally experience the power of reflective work and the curation of artifacts to demonstrate and support learning using transformative technology. You will apply this knowledge, using reflective methods and tools, to create and share a class assignment using these methods. Evidence-based research supporting the use of reflective assignments will be shared and discussed. Technology tools for supporting these assignments will be explored. Tips for the construction and support of reflective assignments will be shared throughout the workshop.

TOASTEDU Podcast - Ep26:

How Does an iPad Fit Into My Workflow?

When we think of creative tools or workflows, we usually think of pencils, markers, whiteboards and paper.  However, Apple has always been a company that prides themselves on creating computers and software for creative folks.

Over the last 10 years, the iPad and other tablets have exploded in the mainstream market.  Not just for creative digital media folks, but everyone.   I think it’s time we look at the iPad specifically and see what it can do and how it can improve workflows among creatives, but also how it can change the workflow of college faculty.

This podcast will dive into a few aspects of how the iPad can improve workflow, especially using creative digital media tools, accessories, and applications that can benefit anyone.  I will give my insight and experiences with using the iPad for over 11 years to create not only just digital media but how it benefits my workflow in my daily work environment.

Have an Idea?  Are you Interested in Showcasing a Project or Program?

Consider doing a PUMA Playback video or share your instructional project with the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Employee Engagement.  You can fill out our new Feature Story Submission Form or contact us to learn more about how we can collaborate with you to make this a seamless and fun process.
