Introducing the Puma Portfolio!

A Puma Portfolio is an ePortfolio created using Google Sites that allows students to document, deepen, and reflect on learning experiences during their time at Paradise Valley Community College.

The Puma Portfolio template is now live and students can begin developing their own Puma Portfolio through google sites. You can see and download the Puma Portfolio Guide for instructions and resources on how to create a Puma Portfolio. For more information stop by the CTLEE Office in E125 or email Felicia.Ramirez@paradisevalley.edu

Puma Portfolios have many benefits for students and the college. As a High Impact Practice (HIP) and means of authentic assessment of learning, Puma Portfolios empower students to curate "signature" work that demonstrates directly the knowledge, skills, and dispositions they have gained as a result of learning experiences across curricular and co-curricular learning experiences, as well as how they feel about the collective experiences, and the ways in which the experiences/abilities/knowledge influence their hopes for the future.

A special thanks to the ePortfolio Institute Team (Leonard Macias, Lynn McClleland, Mike Ho, Jamie Martin, John McCrudden, Shareen Christie) and Sam Fraulino for assisting with template design.

TheForage.com – Work-Based Experience (WBE) Through Corporate Case Studies

Scalable 5-6 hour virtual work experience via corporate case studies gives students a genuine career advantage with the world's top companies. JP Morgan, Chase, KPMG, AIG, Bank of America, Lululemon, and Red Bull are just some of the major corporations that provide work experience to our students helping them gain the skills to be successful. In only 5-6 hour case studies, students learn the relevant tools necessary to complete a typical work day at that company. Students can compare their work with model examples from the company and earn a certificate, and they can add these certificates to their resume and LinkedIn account. More importantly, students who complete these programs are 4x more likely to land a job at a partner company through these types of work-based experiences.
