ADJUNCT FACULTY UPDATE
FEATURE FOCUS
Dear Fellow Adjuncts . . .
We had 16 nominations for Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Awards! And, we had nominations from colleagues, students, supervisors, and division chairs. The nominations were impressive (but, what did we expect :-) ?)
Our college will send three winners to an awards dinner hosted by MCLI at the end of April. Be on the lookout for the award winners announcement from the AFEG President, Paul Franckowiak!
We are proud to represent you.

MCCCD offers an abundant amount of professional development opportunities to enhance your work life. We have gathered here many resources from our district and beyond and put them in one central location for your convenience.
NEW PUMAS
After the official New Employee Orientation with the District and PV HR offices, this is a great place for new employees (New Pumas) to become better acquainted with PVCC's campus, structure, culture, and community.
This course begins with an overview of online teaching and learning, then addresses many important topics for successfully teaching online, such as the Quality Matters rubric, learning objectives and alignment with learning activities, instructing your online course, best practices in online teaching, assessment, and accessibility.
In support of MCCCD's mission and values to provide access to higher education for diverse students and communities along with PVCC's diversity, equity, and inclusion goals, members of search committees at PVCC are required to take this course prior to serving on a search committee.

TOAST EDU
Ep04- Listen Up Faculty - This Is Your Next Student
This podcast is focused on the next generation of students coming into our college system. As each high school year ends, more young teens graduate from high school and make their way into “your” classrooms. Ready and armed with a virtual backpack of digital skills of interactive media knowledge and creation skills, online course experience such as Canvas knowledge, along with other advanced skills.
These are the students that are extremely tech savvy and will be needing much more from their instructors to keep them engaged and better learners. Sit back and listen to a conversation with a 15 year old sophomore who will give us an insight to what she loves about her high school experience with her instructional multimedia and Canvas usage.
Have an Idea? Are you Interested in Showcasing a Project or Program?
Consider doing a PUMA Playback video or share your instructional project with the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Employee Engagement. You can fill out our new Feature Story Submission Form or contact us to learn more about how we can collaborate with you to make this a seamless and fun process.
