What is a Ben's Bell, you ask? It's cool, check it out . . .
Ben’s Bells are colorful ceramic ornaments hung in communities throughout the world as symbols of kindness for people to find and take home. Thousands of volunteers visit our studios and help us make Bells each year. By the time each Bell is hung, many hands have had a part in its journey, and it represents the efforts of an entire community coming together to make one person’s day a little kinder.
But that’s not all they do!
Ben’s Bells educates communities about the skills they need to make kindness a part of our daily lives. Kindness is a skill set that can be learned, and a series of small actions practiced regularly makes a larger impact than a single random act. Their programs are designed to help us understand the human brain so we can develop our awareness and compassion – both for ourselves and others.

This course is a resource of important Canvas information and how-tos, and also is a great resource for those already using Canvas.
MCCCD offers an abundant amount of professional development opportunities to enhance your work life. We have gathered here many resources from our district and beyond and put them in one central location for your convenience.
NEW PUMAS
After the official New Employee Orientation with the District and PV HR offices, this is a great place for new employees (New Pumas) to become better acquainted with PVCC's campus, structure, culture, and community.
This course begins with an overview of online teaching and learning, then addresses many important topics for successfully teaching online, such as the Quality Matters rubric, learning objectives and alignment with learning activities, instructing your online course, best practices in online teaching, assessment, and accessibility.
In support of MCCCD's mission and values to provide access to higher education for diverse students and communities along with PVCC's diversity, equity, and inclusion goals, members of search committees at PVCC are required to take this course prior to serving on a search committee.

TOAST EDU PODCAST
Welcome Back: Doing Things Differently
As summer comes to an end, faculty, staff, and students are now trickling back to the PVCC campus for Fall 2022. Coming out of a pandemic offered many online and remote learning challenges and as well as learning to work and regaining our working relationships, it’s now time to really get back into creating projects, collaborating with others, and using new digital media to enhance our courses.
Sam will briefly discuss Canvas, Google Sites and touch on a new tool that he used over the summer called Adobe Express that he is sure faculty and staff will find a lot of fun as well as easy to learn and implement into your course materials with some really creative design solutions.
