Grant Culture Workshop for Faculty & Staff

From the PVCC Grants Development & Management Office:  As part of our ongoing efforts to secure more grant funding to support PVCC's strategic plan, a Grant Culture Workshop for Faculty and Staff will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023, from 8:30 am to 10:30am (breakfast will be served). The purpose of the workshop is to get faculty and staff to be more engaged in grants development (pre-award) and management (post-award). The workshop will cover the role of grants,  the grant cycle, funding sources, grants development, and grant management. There will be a breakout session where participants will identify a college need for which resources are currently not available and a potential grant funding source, and then develop a short funding proposal.

Ep19 - It’s RAW! JPEG vs RAW Digital Photo Formats

Digital photography has exploded over the last 20 years.  With so many different formats and shooting settings, what is really best for when using your digital camera to capture memories or use it for instructional media purposes to enhance your instructional materials.

Most of us know the term JPEG, that format that allows us to send photos via text, email or post on the internet.  The advantage is a compressed image that is suitable for online use and has a smaller file size.

However, in the digital photography world, there is another format that exists called RAW.  This is that unprocessed image that comes straight from the digital camera and is used for higher quality uses.  Think of this as a negative to your digital photograph.
