EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH
PVCC FACTS AND CULTURE
Each year, the colleges are invited to submit one nomination to recognize activities that bring innovation alive at the colleges. The college nomination moves into the second round where one innovation is selected to represent MCCCD at the annual League for Innovation Conference. This year the nomination selected to represent PVCC is: The innovative use of photogrammetry, 3d scanning, and 3d printing to develop and preserve art in an analog and digital space at PVCC.
Project Goal: The goal of the project is to use photogrammetry, 3d scanning, and 3d printing to catalog artworks in a 3d environment, create 3d video game assets, 3d print theatrical stage props, develop 3d assets for fine arts performances, and repair damaged artwork with 3d printing. Using these technologies to adapt to the ever-changing performing fine arts and digital art world, we can provide our students with new ways to develop and preserve art in an analog and digital space.

Dr. Cordova Plaza Dedication
As reported in the PVCC College News, "On Monday, January 31, 2022, Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) honored its founding president, Dr. John Cordova, by dedicating a new Cordova Plaza at the heart of its main campus....Dr. Cordova served the college from 1983 to 1992." But what wasn't reported, was the long-term impact that Dr. Cordova has had on employee development at PVCC. In 1987, the college was founded on a strong student and employee development philosophy utilizing a rich technological environment. PVCC was an early leader in this new way of thinking about the teaching and learning relationship. Specifically, the employee development philosophy stated:
The quality of student’s education depends significantly on the quality of all employees.
All members of the institution must feel valued and be given an opportunity to grow.
An employee development program is designed to foster personal and professional development among all college employees.
The employee and student development philosophies transitioned into our learning-centered college philosophy. with our core college value of learning. As the work continues to reimagine and redesign employee learning at PVCC, the CTLEE we will keep these philosophies as our central focus!
