Week beginning - Monday 26th January 2026
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
Our hard work and learning has continued - our confidence and knowledge growing from strength to strength. This week, we moved on to compare and contrast the crimes and punishments of the Victorians. We considered how this aligns and differs to the modern world and we all agreed that none of us want to experience the treadwheel or crank! The majority of the year group visited The Tower of London and had an extraordinary day. We saw the Crown Jewels, traitors gate and did our best to find all of the ravens who live in the grounds. Many of us also enjoyed seeing the guards in action and discussing the Beefeaters rules - did you know that they serve in the military for 22 years before being post to the tower? Whilst we LOVED our exploration and learning, we were all exhausted from the walking!
Aside from our trip, we have been continuing to strengthen our understanding of fractions including adding and subtracting mixed number fractions. We've all worked tirelessly on this including improving the pace of our times tables recall. As always, we've been sharing the books we're reading and striving to share vocabulary that we can magpie for our writing.
