Week beginning - Monday 26th January 2026
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!
What a spectacular week of learning! Our young authors have been transporting us back in time as they put the finishing touches on their immersive diary entries. Writing from the perspective of a Mayan child, the children have showcased incredible progress, weaving sophisticated expanded noun phrases and fronted adverbials into their work with real flair. It is truly wonderful to see how much their confidence and "adventurous vocabulary" have grown already this year!
In Maths, we’ve been going the distance! The children have become masters of the metric system, expertly converting between meters and kilometers. They took their learning into the great outdoors, armed with trundle wheels and plenty of curiosity, to measure the school grounds with fantastic precision. There was a real buzz of excitement as they "clicked" their way across the playground!
Finally, our Inquiry sessions have been a hive of creativity. The children have dived deep into history to design their own striking Mayan masks. From considering intricate layers to the symbolic purpose of their designs, they are now buzzing with ideas for the materials they will use to bring these ancient masterpieces to life!
