Pearls of The Sea

Year 4s took their first steps into Pearls of the Sea this term.  We visited Hastings Contemporary and had a tour around the galleries.

The children also did some fish printing.  Using locally caught plaice they covered them with ink and then pressed gently to get a print onto a cloth bag. 

We also examined a piece of art in the museum and collaboratively created a collage of flowers based on the art. 

Our next Pearls of the Sea session will be at the White Rock theatre to perform a sea shanty the children started to learn on our visit to the gallery.  Our bags and other artworks will be on show at this time and parents will be able to come along and watch.   More details of this in the new year.
