This term we have completed our Action Plan for the WE SEND Project and we start working on this in earnest in the New Year. We are looking to improve the following areas:
The way governors and leaders monitor SEND Provision in the school
The way we support learners with SEND to make progress in the wider curriculum
The way we encourage positive learning behaviours and learners self-regulation
The way we assess and record progress of learners with SEND
The way we deploy and work with our Teaching Assistants.
The attendance of learners with SEND
We are starting off the New Year with an Inset Day dedicated to adaptation of learning for all learners, including those with SEND. This will get us off to the best possible start with our Action Plan.
Inclusion Consultations will continue on a Thursday afternoon and can be booked through Mr Tippett or Mrs Foster via Dojo. Remember no concern is too big or too small. We have discussed concerns in the areas of SEND, Mental Health, Well-being and other general concerns. If you can't make a Thursday afternoon we can be flexible.
At our Pupil Consultations this term teachers will have shared a letter with you if your child is on our SEND Register. I thought it would be useful to give a little more detail about the different levels of support recorded on the letters:
Stage1 - S (Early Support/Causing Concern)
High quality Inclusive teaching.
Additional in class support (group or individual)
Adaptive teaching and environment
Stage 2 - K (Targeted SEND Support)

Stage 3 - K+ (Targeted intensive SEND Support)

I hope that you have a lovely time celebrating Christmas with those closest to you and wish you every blessing for 2025.
