In terms 1 and 2 Beluga class has been busy practicing their ukulele skills. Children have worked incredibly hard to master the C, F and G chords and keep in time with the rhythm of a song!
The children loved performing their 3 songs to parents and we hope you were as impressed as us with their musical skills!
Children grabbed their atlases and became geographers this term. Children were learning all about natural disasters.
First children explored what a natural disaster is and why they occur, alongside discovering some of the devastating impacts they can have.
Children then learned all about a historical natural disaster- the destruction of Pompeii after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and thought about how this could inform our understanding and predictions of future events.
We then looked at some recent natural disasters across the globe and spoke about the location of them. We discussed reasons why lots of natural disasters happen near the equator.
We then explored the Haiti earthquake and Storm Eunice, discussing similarities and differences between the responses to the disasters.
Forest School
This term Beluga class have loved forest school and getting muddy!
The children used their skills to build fires, construct bird feeders and slide down muddy banks!
This term we really enjoyed fundraising for children in need. Children (and adults!) had the chance to dress in their favourite Pudsey clothes, eat cake and take part in lots of activties! What a wonderful day we had.
