With Live Text, iOS will now recognize any text in a photo, screenshot, or camera preview thanks to the OCR allowing Apple to extract text from any image.

Open the Camera app.
Brackets will appear meaning text is recognized.
Tap the Live Text button to access text.
Text can be copied, spoken, looked up, translated, etc.
To select portions of the text, touch and drag your finger to select text. Use the blue "handles" to select more or less.
Tap outside the text box to close Live Scan.

Open Notes.
Tap the camera icon.
Tap Scan text.
The scanned text will show up in the text field.
Tap the Live Text button on the bottom right to select parts of the text.
Touch and drag your finger to select text.
Tap insert to close the scan window.
OCR works best with clean, clearly printed materials.
OCR doesn't work well with letters that are:
fancy
angled
handwritten
colorful
