Google Chrome and YouTube
Closed captions is called Live Caption in Chrome. Teachers and students can turn on Live Caption in their Chrome account. This option does not work using full-screen, but the video could be zoomed-in using the pinch method (on a Mac, pinch with two fingers to zoom in or out).
Click the three dots on the upper right side of the window.
Click Settings.
On the left side of your screen, click Advanced.
Click Accessibility.
Turn the Live Caption toggle on (gray is off, blue is on).
Open a video, like this advisory video. When you play the video, closed captioning will appear.
The closed caption box can be moved to a different part of the screen (click and drag) or closed by clicking the x.
Once closed, the closed caption box will not appear again unless you refresh the page.
The arrow at the bottom of this box expands to show more lines. Clicking on it again will collapse the box.
Most YouTube videos have closed captions built-in (bottom right corner of the video).
Look for the cc icon.
