Students using their OUSD Chrome accounts do not have access to add extensions. Please request this extension through your teacher or case manager.
Click the Ginger extension on the upper right of the screen.
If you do not see the Ginger extension, click the jigsaw icon to open the Extensions window. Click the pin to "pin it" to the extensions bar.
If the icon is not available, please request this extension through your teacher or case manager.
Open a Google Doc.
Start typing. When you're finished, select your text and copy.
Click the Ginger extension to open it and paste your text in the window.
Colored lines will appear below errors:
red = spelling errors
blue = grammar errors
Hover over an underlined word. Suggestions will be shown in a pop-up.
Click the pop-up to accept all suggestions.
or
Hover over a word to accept (√) or deny (x) the suggestion.
Click Rephrase to see alternative suggestions to express your text in a different way.
Click the expand icon to open your text in Ginger Writer.
A new tab with Ginger Writer will open. The spelling, grammar and rephrase suggestions work the same as described above.
