PDFs or photo files (.jpeg, .png and .gif) can be converted.
Documents must be right-side up. If your image faces the wrong way, rotate it before you upload it to Google Drive.
Common fonts, such as Arial or Times New Roman are recognized easily.
Image quality: Use sharp images with even lighting and clear contrasts.
OCR works best with clean, clearly printed materials.
OCR doesn't work well with letters that are:
fancy
angled
handwritten
colorful

Right click a PDF or photo files (.jpeg, .png or .gif) .
Click Open with /Google Docs.
The file will download and convert from a PDF or picture to text.
The original image appears above the line. The editable text is beneath the line.
The editable text can now be altered to fit the user's needs.
