Marking Period 1: Grow
My marking period 1 growth in financial literacy was the Shark Tank project on the smart pot. My partner and I had a strong idea, but the presentation could have been better. We made some mistakes when answering questions from the sharks and could have been more fully prepared. Some of our responses lacked detail. We could have explained the product and its value more clearly. The presentation could also have been more detailed. This project showed me the importance of preparation and knowing every single part of a presentation.

My marking period 1 flow for financial literacy was my stock market research paragraphs. I researched multiple companies and explained each one's stocks clearly. I summarized how the stock market was doing in each company in similar and effective ways. I explained what someone should invest or what issues a company might face. My paragraphs were organized and easy to understand. I used accurate information to support my points. I earned a good grade on this assignment. This work showed my strong research and explanation skills.

My marking period 2 grow in financial literacy was the inflation web quest. The assignment focused on researching historical periods of inflation or deflation. I did well overall, as I clearly explained what caused each event. I also explained the effect on the economy. My responses showed a good understanding of the economic concepts of inflation. The use of the online web helped me with researching each topic and explaining them well. The assignment was organized and simple. I got a good grade on this assignment and it showed the growth of my research skills.
Marking Period 2: Grow
My marking period 2 glow was an assignment on applying for scholarships. When completing this assignment we had to research different scholarships and apply to them, making sure they each required an essay, writing 3 essays/ paragraphs in total. This was an example of a grow because although I did well on them I could have written better essays that were more personalized. This was also kind of hard to complete because it took some time trying to find these scholarships. When completing an assignment like this next time I could put more thought and energy into writing great essays.
