This assignment is an example of a memoir essay. This assignment was completed as a part of our unit about memoirs and people writing texts about their lives. The objective of this assignment was to write a memoir about a topic that had to do with yourself. The components of this assignment were thinking, writing, and formatting. To complete this assignment, first I found a topic. Then I thought of how I wanted to explain, where I wanted to place the dialog. And finally, I wrote and completed my essay/memoir.

Through completing this assignment, I learned about censorship and why Of Mice and Men was censored. This assignment taught me what censorship is, why censorship is an issue, how censorship occurs in schools, and how the book has changed. I enjoyed this assignment because I was able to learn about a new topic. This assignment challenged me to find information and research about a topic. If I had to complete this assignment again, I would improve it by adding more information and going in depth.

Through completing this assignment, I learned how John Steinbeck developed the major theme of dreams and how they do not always come true. I enjoyed this assignment because I was able to explain how "Of Mice and Men' had and showed a certain theme. This assignment challenged me to find evidence that supported the theme. This assignment represents having evidence and being able to back it up, which is an important theme in this course. If I had to complete this assignment again, I would improve it by explaining more and building a connection with evidence t the theme.
