Hi! My name is Reilly VanderMey, I am a History Major in my Junior Year. While I'm doing that, I'm also getting my Teaching-Certification.

Every Dog I have ever owned has had either a Greek or Roman Name
I had a ton of pets as a child, including horses
I was actually part of a band in Highschool, called the pH H8r's, I played Piano (Very Badly)

The Teacher I Will Become.
What I have left to learn?
It would honestly be quicker to list the things I don't have to learn...
But if i had to pick something, I would definitely say classroom management and lesson planning
The Teacher want to be.
In the future, I will become a teacher that allows exploration into the historical field, while also acknowledging that history is not everyone's cup of Tea. Students should learn in an environment that student-centered and is taught based on how each individual student learns best as much as possible, and is a mixture of lectures, discussions, and activities. I hope to have a mixture of an essentialism and existentialism in my classroom, so students can have the essential knowledge of the world and be able to find where they fit into that.

One of my dream places to teach, or live, is definity Italy or anywhere in Europe! I also agree with your 'The Teacher I want to be' part because not all students will be interested in history or be able to retain information. I also think its important to include a variety of different ways to teach that helps all students -Robbin
I love that you have an understanding that not all of your future students will love history. As a history major, I sometimes forget that haha. Overall, I think it is amazing that you are very student-focused with your teaching philosophies!- Rebecca Spach 8am
Hey, I grew up all over Europe too! I've been to that bridge in Florence so many damn times so respect for you putting it in that slide show. Your about me section was pretty funny and I liked that you put you have so much to learn because honeslty same. - Sarah Barkhurst
