I'm Ayden, I was born in Washington State, only person in my family not born in Pennsylvania. My family has deep roots in the military, with myself being the first person in three generations to not serve, instead shooting for a Department of Defense job. I've lived all over, Washington, Pennyslvania, Japan, New York, and Virginia. Virginia being the place I call home. I strive to become a teacher in the department of defense because I love to tell people about history, I also love to travel, not to mention the benefits of a DODEA job.

Living around the country and out of country I've seen how many people choose to live and how differently everyone lives. As a teacher I firmly believe I can help my students or colleages learn how to properly understand and appreciate those around them and around the world.
Before I become a teacher I plan to further my knowledge on how others live their lives so when I'm in the class I can relate to those I help and stand as a mentor too. Thats why I'm shooting for an internship with DODEA as a studen teacher next year.
I'm aiming for a student centered classroom, a space where we host activites and exercises for students to actively engage in my subject. Whether it be puzzles for them to figure out what historical figure I'm speaking about, or projects about the history of their favorite subjects. I belive the purpose of a school is to foster growth of a student and shape them into a model citizen that can think for themselves and knows what they need to function. My students will learn the history that shaped the world they live in, letting them appreciate the sacrifices or events that happened to get the world where it is now, hopefully getting this through videos, experiments, projects, or trips around the area, I plan to get each student to understand their partners and get their relations even further, its a small world. Everyone shares something in common.
Existentialism, thats how I plan to teach my students, I want them to properly understand how the events and sacrifices of the world led to where they sit now. I want my students to firmly grasp that history is everywhere and is always changing, for them to understand that they could make history one day, regardless of how it seems now. My students should have the same philosophy, hopefully understanding their freedoms come from the past and what others have done. If a person was to walk in they'd see me standing at the head of the room explaining how history relates to them or everyday objects they use, or they'd see my students engaging in long conversations of how they believe history has effected them or how it will change in the future.

Hi Ayden, I agree with that it is important that students and adults as well learn more about the world we live in. It is very cool that you have seen so many places!
