Our "Reimagining Recess" initiative has had a fantastic week! It has been wonderful to see the students embrace this new way of playing.
The initial "first-week excitement" is beginning to settle, and we are seeing students transition beautifully into their new routines. One of the biggest highlights has been watching students from all grades playing and collaborating together—it is heartening to see our older and younger students building such a positive school community on the yard.
The hula hoops have been an absolute hit! We’ve been so impressed by the students' creativity; they aren't just hula-hooping—they are using them as targets, building obstacles, and incorporating them into all sorts of imaginative games.
As the snow continues to melt, we are looking forward to opening up more space and designating specific "play zones" for different types of activities. This will help keep our yard organized and ensure there is a perfect spot for every kind of game.
Stay tuned for more updates as our playground continues to transform!
