Remembrance Day Donations for Poppies

This year, instead of bringing a coin donation to school, families can donate SchoolCashOnline, and their child will receive a poppy to wear on Remembrance Day. All donations will be sent to Royal Canadian Legion 632 ~ Poppy Trust Fund. Thank you in advance for your support. Poppies will be made available to students on Remembrance Day.

Students will be given a poppy before the Remembrance Day ceremony on November 11.

Lockdown Practice

We will be conducting a routine, scheduled lockdown drill on Thursday this week.

The purpose of this drill is to practice and reinforce our safety procedures in the unlikely event of an emergency. This proactive measure ensures that all students and staff know exactly what to do to keep everyone safe.

We understand that drills can sometimes be unsettling, so we take great care to present them to students in an age-appropriate manner.

Emphasis on Safety: We frame the drill as practicing a 'safe' routine, similar to a fire drill, where the goal is simply to follow directions to stay secure.

Clear Instructions: Teachers will use calm, clear language and focus on the practical steps: quickly moving away from doors and windows, and remaining quiet.

Reassurance: We let students know this is a practice and that they are safe in school.

Presentation from our Mental Health Worker

All our grade 4 students will be receiving a presentation by our Mental Health Worker to help them understand and manage stress. on Thursday this week.

Exciting News: Combined Junior and Senior Youth Ministry at Divine Infant Parish!

Aligned with the mission of the Divine Infant Parish, we are thrilled to announce the formation of our combined Junior and Senior Youth Ministry. Our Vision is simple yet powerful:

"Empowering the next generation to boldly follow Christ, grow in faith, and transform their community with love and purpose."

This is a wonderful opportunity for youth to unite in faith, deepen their relationship with Christ, and make a meaningful impact in both their lives and the community.

Why Combine the Junior and Senior Youth Ministries?

By bringing the two groups together, we create a stronger, more vibrant community. This change will enable:

  • Shared experiences: Youth of all ages can learn from one another, fostering mentorship and friendship across grades.

  • Increased involvement in parish life: Our combined ministry will have greater opportunities to participate in liturgical events, parish fundraisers, community service projects, and more.

  • Enhanced spiritual growth: With a larger group, we can offer a richer diversity of experiences, deepening our faith through shared prayer, discussions, and activities.

  • A more cohesive youth community: Unity fosters a stronger bond, where everyone—no matter their age—can contribute to the mission of the parish.

We're Now Accepting Registrations!

Junior Youths: Grades 5 to 8

Senior Youths: Grades 9 to 12
