  • For Early Pick-up (before 3:00 PM): If you need to pick up your child before the regular dismissal time, pleas ensure you arrive at the office before 2:45 PM.

  • For Late Arrivals (after 2:45 PM): Parents arriving after 2:45 PM will be kindly instructed to meet their child directly at their designated dismissal door at the regular 3:00 PM dismissal time.

  • Thank you to so many parents for coming out for interviews, having phone interviews or a Google Meet with your child’s teacher.  You are such an important part of your child’s success at school.  Knowing that you are working with their teachers helps students feel supported and loved.

Cold Weather

    • Winter weather has arrived.  As you are aware, our students spend a minimum of 70 min outdoors (two 15 minute recesses and a 40 minute lunch recess).  Being properly dressed for the weather ensures that your child can play comfortably and safely.  Playing outside without proper winter clothing often means that students have difficulty concentrating in class due to wet clothing or trying to warm up.  This will have an impact on their ability to succeed.

    • We are strongly recommending that your child be sent to school daily with the following,

      • Winter coat

      • Snow pants (rain pants do not provide cold protection)

      • Winter hat

      • Mittens or gloves (thin gloves are not recommended)

      • Winter boots (traction and warmth)

    • Please make sure to label all belongings

 Farewell Mrs. Jaime

Our dedicated Office Administrator, Jaime, is off to new adventurers!

Mrs. Jaime has been an invaluable member of our school community, and we are sad to see her go. She is moving on to new adventures and opportunities!

Please join us in wishing Mrs. Jaime much success and we know that she will shine!  Thank you for all you have done for our OLW community.

 Christmas Store

The Grade 6’s will once again be spreading some seasonal joy by opening up their annual Christmas Store this December. The store will be open for business Monday and Tuesday December 15th-16th, where all OLW students can purchase Christmas presents for their family members for $2 each. Each gift will be wrapped by Grade Six students and sent home to be placed under the tree.

For the store to be successful, we need your help. If you have any gently used, school-appropriate items that you wish to donate, please send them with your child. In the past, books, games, smaller toys and various household objects have proven to be popular.  We are also in need of gifts for fathers. Our goal is to receive enough donations for each student to purchase 2 gifts in total. We will begin accepting donations as soon as possible.
