Mission Summary: The mission will consist of two launches, the ATV (Agena Target Vehicle) and the Gemini crew. First the ATV will launch aboard the Atlas rocket. It will follow standard launch and ascent procedures and insert to the proper orbit for the mission. After the ATV is confirmed to be in a stable orbit the crew will launch aboard the Titan II. The Titan II will follow standard launch and ascent sequences. Once both are in orbit they will begin a series of maneuvers to synchronize their orbit and velocity. Once that is done they will dock together. The on orbit operations will then be performed. Once they are done the vehicles will undock and deorbit. The Gemini capsule will return on parachutes as normal while the ATV will burn up in the atmosphere.
The ATV lifts off from the pad
Atlas releases the half stage engines
The ascent sequence nears the end, the vehicle is nearly in orbit
With the ATV in orbit, the Atlas booster separates
After liftoff (the pictures of that went missing) the Gemini continues on the ascent sequence
After the first stage cuts off, it jettisons and the second stage continues ascent and inserts the capsule in a circular orbit
The two vehicles prepare to dock in orbit
Docking complete
After undocking the Gemini capsule deorbits with the orbital module engines
The capsule enters the atmosphere again
Parachutes deploy and the capsule splashes down safely
