Former Staff Members

Davi spent three years with the Huguenot Herald.  She participated in online journalism workshops over the summer such as the Washington Journalism and Media Conference with George Mason University and the High School Journalism Institute with Indiana University. Davi specifically enjoys writing human interest or arts and entertainment stories. Davi is also the President of National English Honor Society and the Vice President of the band.

Alex spent three years at the Huguenot Herald. He plays soccer for a travel team called Westchester Flames. In 2018, he was invited to a United Nations session on drinking and driving. He has a website called “Essential English” where he teaches Brazilian teenagers how to speak English. He wants to major in journalism in college. 


Liana spent one year with the Huguenot Herald. She enjoys every form of writing ranging from a poem to a short story and has a strong appreciation for “slice of life” novels. She is president of the French Honor Society and has been a part of the musical productions See Rock City and Head Over Heels where she pursues her passion for acting. 

Monique Njimeni spent one year with the Huguenot Herald. She writes daily in her personal journal (like she has been doing all her life) and this will be Monique’s second year at the Herald. Monique’s favorite topics to write about are the entertainment industry,  music, movies, TV shows, sports games etc.  She is a singer, in PAVE vocal and a music-a-holic, and enjoys writing reviews on what she's heard. Monique’s hopes to pursue a career in journalism or broadcast journalism. 

Lianna spent one year with the Huguenot Herald. She enjoys writing—both creative and informative—as well as photography and cinematography. She enjoys writing about current events, politics, opinions, and more. She is president of the French Honor Society, and is also a part of Ignite. In her free time, Lianna enjoys creating short films, listening to music, writing, and spending time with friends and family. 


Piper Genkin was on the Herald for half of a year. Piper’s favorite topics to write about include a variety of things such as pop culture, social media, politics, business and art. During her time away from the paper, Piper works hard in school, on the lacrosse field and in PAVE Art among other clubs and activities.  Piper is a lifeguard during the summer and spends her other free time listening to music, watching television, reading and being with friends.
