Greg Schaap currently serves as Head of Strategic Commercial Initiatives and Portfolio, Base Business at Viatris which includes the US business (excluding promoted brands), Europe, Emerging Markets and the Japan, Australia and New Zealand (JANZ) segment.
Prior to the creation of the Base Business unit at Viatris, Greg served more than 10 years at Viatris in various roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he served as the Head of Commercial Operations for JANZ and Emerging Markets. He has also held numerous other commercial operations, Chief of Staff and Business Development roles in Viatris and former Mylan Inc. as part of the North America and Rest of World (RoW) teams. He has helped lead Viatris teams through integrations, divestments and many organizational and commercial focus changes.
Greg began his career in management consulting and spent significant time in the US defense industry including on active duty as a Captain of Infantry in the US Army. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business from Indiana University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Carnegie Mellon University.
Outside of Viatris, Greg spends time with his wife Carla and two sons Max (14) & Owen (12). He enjoys exercising, travelling with his family, golfing, coaching and watching his sons play sports.
