Andrew Osan is a staff mechanical engineer who designs and supports medical devices at Bayer Pharmaceuticals in Indianola, PA. He has worked in the medical device field for the past 12 years.
At Bayer, Andrew helped turn customer needs and new technology into a brand-new electromechanical contrast injector, keeps injector platforms licensed for use around the world, and coordinates with suppliers to keep the manufacturing supply chain running smoothly.
As part of his daily job, he keeps design drawings up to date, solves assembly line problems caused by design or supplier issues, and adapts designs to save costs and handle obsolete materials.
Andrew specializes in design and management of injection molded plastic parts, cast and machined metal parts, as well as 3D printing parts for production and prototyping.
Previously, Andrew worked at Honda R&D Americas as an Interior Design Engineer from February 2012 to May 2014 outside of Columbus, OH.
While at Honda, he laid out seat and seat-belt systems for new vehicles, worked with other teams and suppliers to build prototypes and meet global safety rules, and helped reduce part costs by about 20%. His most notable contribution was the development of the seat belt systems within the 2016-2022 Honda Pilot.
Andrew earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Nuclear Engineering from Penn State University in 2011. In 2025, he completed an MBA, a Master of Science in Finance, and a Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics at Auburn University.
