Dr. Rahman is an Interventional Cardiologist at UPMC and the VA, and serves as Chief Medical Officer of the VA Butler Healthcare System. He completed the seven-year BS/MD program at MCP-Hahnemann School of Medicine (now Drexel University College of Medicine), followed by an internal medicine residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. He subsequently completed a cardiology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, with advanced training in interventional cardiology and peripheral intervention at Allegheny General Hospital. Dr. Rahman joined the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in 2009 and is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine. He is a core faculty member of the medical school, serving on the medical school admissions committee as well as the cardiology fellowship selection committee. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the Society of Coronary Angiography and Interventions. In addition to his clinical and academic roles, Dr. Rahman has a strong interest in healthcare business. He earned an MBA from Harvard Business School in 2018 and has provided consulting services to McKinsey & Company and Google Health.
