Dear NIST,
I personally think that our school should eliminate school uniform code because of the many reasons I wish to explain.
The school uniforms are really tacky and are made with a weak - ish material which can tear easily making you have to walk around school with a tear in your pant. When I play football on the field at lunch or break, sliding, running or even stretching my leg to reach for the ball will cause it to tear right through the middle, so I either have to find some other pants which occasionally I won't have because we don't have PE every day. The pants and shirts are also very thick and heavy, so trying to play sports wearing these clothes will cause you to sweat and when you're clothes get water on them they start to get heavy and trying to run while wearing a wet heavy shirt is annoying and can also cause rashes on your body cause you're moving fast and it's rubbing against your skin.
The uniforms are very bland and color-less, so wearing them you can't express yourself. People like to express themselves with their own colors, and the best way to express yourself is in what you wear, because you choose you're own color and wear that to school. I mean I know people are worried about the fact that other people can bully them for what they are wearing, but simply people can report it to a teacher and have the ‘bully’ get in trouble and it might not happen again.
From the random survey I took from my class, people say that the school uniforms are not comfortable and sometimes they can itch, mostly in your neck cause of the collar. So people should be at least able to bring there pants for maximum comfort in school. If we are able to at least have people wearing their own pants, then the school can still be represented like all over Thailand. Because the school and teachers want kids to wear uniforms to represent the school when we on a motorbike, BTS, etc…. But if we have our own pants but the same school shirt, then we can be comfortable. This also relates to playing sports because you can wear sports pants, so you don't tear your school pants while playing football or other outdoor activities.
Thanks for reading my letter.
