Important Info for the Week:
Disguise A Turkey Home Project - Due Friday, Nov, 11th:
We need your help! Your child will disguise a turkey to avoid being dinner on Thanksgiving Day! You can get as creative as you want! The turkey will be due on Friday, November 11th. There will be directions and a turkey template in your child's green folder.
Stuffed Animal Needed for Wednesday, Nov. 9th
For phonics on Wednesday, students will be teaching their stuffed animal snap words we have been learning. Please make sure the stuffed animal is small enough to fit in their hands.
Progress Reports:
Progress Reports will be going home on Monday, November 7th in your child's green folder. If a box is left blank, the concept has not been covered yet. Reach out to your child's teacher for any questions or concerns.
Absences:
If your child will be absent, please email your child's teacher and our attendance clerk, Tiffany Peyton, at tiffany.peyton@nisdtx.org.
Lance Thompson has partnered with the Harvest Turkey Trot to host a Food Drive benefiting the North Texas Food Bank! Please join us in supporting our community of friends and family in need. This will also be a grade level contest! There will be a surprise for the grade level who donates the most food (measured by weight)! Below is a list of much needed items for the food bank but every donation is appreciated!
North Texas Food Bank is in desperate need of the following items:
Peanut Butter, 16 oz not mixed with other items like jelly, honey, chocolate
Canned Fruit, 14-16 oz
Shelf-stable Milk, 8 oz not flavored with chocolate, vanilla, strawberry
Canned Tuna, 5 oz
Canned Chicken, 5 oz
Low-sodium Canned Vegetables, 15-16 oz
Trail Mix, 1-2 oz bags
What are we learning?
Phonics - I can teach others snap words.
Reading - I can call on more powers to help me read.
Math - I can represent numbers 0-10 and create repeating patterns.
Writing - I can make my true story easy to read using rules.
Science - I can identify and describe the Fall season.
Social Studies - I can explain the difference between needs and wants.
