Building the Future
Course Content: This course is designed to deliver a hands-on approach to design concepts centered around the sustainability of spaces in which we work, live, and travel. Students will collaborate to address challenges that confront humanity’s ever-changing environment and booming global population. Students will gain insight to industry practices while learning to preserve a positive future. Projects may include (but are not limited to) activities such as designing homes made from discarded shipping containers, bridge building and stress-testing, and wind turbine optimization.
Open to: Grades 7 & 8
Length: 1 semester/every other day
