Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Track 4x1 Relay Team on beating the record from 1978!
Wish the boys PJ Copeland, Peyton Meyers, Tyler Bearer, and Daniel Phillips congratulations on defeating the record on April 7th during their meet against Marion Center and Blacklick Valley.
Interview With the Record Breaking Athletes
By Arla Homady~Features editor~April 14th, 2021I was able to ask the Boys 4x1 track relay team a few questions about the history they made just last week. Here´s what they had to say about this accomplishment.
¨Did you expect to break the record at your first meet?¨
Tyler Bearer- ¨Yeah absolutely.¨
PJ Copeland- ¨Yes... we ran it in practice a couple of days prior to the meet and we were already super close to beating it. We knew that at the meet we would destroy this record, we just had a little bit of cleaning up to do.
Peyton Myers- ¨Oh yeah, we were really close when we ran it fully at practice so we figured we would break it our first meet.¨
¨Did you do any extra preparation to beat the record?¨
Tyler Bearer- ¨A little bit yeah.¨
PJ Copeland- ¨The only extra preparation we did was focusing on making clean handoffs and resting up.¨
