Teacher Philosophy
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Nelson Mandela. Education is the root of our foundation and without it, we would be nowhere and it will continue to be the only force large enough to change the world. Education is the only source on the planet that has proven to show just how capable humans are. Without the education they received they would not be where they are today. Education is the only thing in the past, present, and future that will continue to grow and change the world. In my philosophy, I will cover what my values as an educator are and how those values are formed, the kinds of people schools should seek to develop, how schools work towards greater equity, and how technology is the most beneficial resource in the classroom.
Education from the beginning should be taught through an individualized approach. Each student has their own mind, hence each student learns at their own pace. No two students are the same so there are necessities to make sure that their learning process is constantly and consistently on track. Special circumstances should take place so each individual student should feel like they are getting enough attention throughout each new process.
As a teacher, my classroom will be filled with students from different backgrounds and homes that may not be as involved in their education as others. I am making it my mission to make sure that every one of my students has a chance to succeed in my classroom. I will work with every student individually to see what kind of progress he or she has made and base the focus of the next step on that. It is all about making their education about them and what they need to succeed. That is what is going to make them the most successful.
Technology is a widely underutilized resource in the classroom. Technology has the ability to change the way teachers teach and the way students learn. By welcoming technology into the classroom, students have the ability to take control of their own learning and the teacher has the opportunity to become a facilitator and help students know their own worth and what they are truly capable of.
