A Community of Practice (CoP) is a group of people who "share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly". Whereas, a Online Community of Practice (OCoP) shares the same characterisitcs but in an online platform. These topics can include educational content, hobbies, or other interests that people are passionate about and want to share their ideas or concepts with other people with similar interest. Through an CoP and OCoP, participants feel safe to share their thoughts so they can learn new perspectivies or ideas from others.
An OCoP can be developed and disseminated in many different ways. There are numerous learning management systems (LMS) that could be used to create an OCoP. LMS allows people to access the material both locally and globally.
Google Suites and Google Classroom is an local OCoP for an LMS that I find to be effective and user friendly for all ages. I would recomment using this LMS for a formal setting such as classroom content, professional developments, and trainings. Google Suites has a wide range of resources that can be implemented to successfully teach students and teachers about content.
As a global OCoP, I would recommend using Twitter to allow for more participants around the world to engage in the discussion. Google Suites and Google Classroom can be used globally as well but there are more limitations on who can access what parts of Google Suites.

Digital citizenship is the legal, ethical, healthy and safe use of technology that promotes diversity, cultural understanding and global awareness in online environments.
As the technology director, I would create an engaging and eye catching poster that could be posted throughout all schools and classrooms in my district to ensure all students know the expectations of being safe online. I would also create a video presentation that discusses the legal, ethical, healthy and safe use of technology that promotes diversity, cultural understanding and global awareness in online environments. There would be multiple videos to ensure all students understand at their level of how to appropriately and effectively use technology in school and out of school.
Below are 3 resources I would use to support digital citizenship as a technology coach:
