Referencing the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework is beneficial when determining how to best integrate technology that supports both the content and the students learning. Technology should not be the focus, it should be a tool to help benefit student learning. Content and pedagogical knowledge is an important part of technology integration. While creating the technology plan, I not only had to consider what technology I wanted to integrate into the classroom, but I had to consider how it will work with the content and knowledge teachers have. A school cannot simply provide a tool to teachers and tell them to use it. To appropriately integrate technology into the classroom, the school must have a plan in place and research to back their decisions. The plan must include what is needed to ensure the technology is functioning correctly, proper training for the teachers, and how the technology will be integrated successfully into the classroom.
A visionary planner is a forward thinker who helps establish goals to reach towards. A systems planner looks to build a network of teams and structures that assist with the implementation and sustainability of technology to support student learning. Through the partnership assignment, I was able to understand how to create goals and implement technology in new ways. My partnership with the library allows for students to use different forms of research and technology to support student learning.
The assignment that I am most proud of is the video I created for students to approve of our technology plan. I created a video that was engaging and exciting. Students will be excited to implement technology after watching this video and want to get started with incorporating this technology plan.
