Geometry Unit
Using technology tools and resources to help explain geometry concepts
Exploring the ways in which students can submit assignments/checks online
Exploring websites that give students feedback on their process, and aids in their growth
Geometry Proof Website
Site gives students statements and reasons for proof
Gives students specific feedback on their errors
I was able to walk around and help groups
Students worked with each other and talked out proofs in a group
Students submitted their proof by taking a screenshot, submitting online
Considerations, Modifications
All students eventually found success (working in groups, working with me)
Work submission wasn't a great tool for formative assessment, more participation
Formative assessment happened more as I walked around and saw which groups understood, which groups needed more help
Parallel Diagram, Angle Relationships
Practicing angle relationships with an online game vs paper worksheet
Timed, 20 seconds
Students' goal was to get at least 4 pairs in 20 seconds
Helped me get a snapshot of how well students knew angle relationships
Protractor Practice (Extra Credit)
Geometry tools can be tricky to use
Online Protractor Practice
Helps students line up protractor correctly and read angles
Students have been way more successful using protractors in class
Extra Credit - first online geometry task I assigned
