Centers

• Goals

  • Students are working on something math-related at all times

  • Students get some time to read, play, or study mathematical ideas that are interesting to them, not required by teacher or driven by standards

• Math-related activities

  • Board/card games, iPad games, books, puzzles, extra practice/support pages, extension activities

• Students move on to Centers if HW/practice is finished; during small group time when they're not meeting with me in S.G.

  • Students get to work in a place that makes them feel comfortable, and allows them to share ideas, make mistakes
