POSTERS AND PRINTABLES
When our students struggle with reading, we provide reading support. When they struggle with math, we provide math support. And when a child struggles with behavior....we punish them?
Shifting our thinking towards understanding that a child is lacking the SKILLS needed to be successful in our classrooms, with their peers, interacting with adults, playing on the playground, etc. and that we must provide behavior support instead of punishment in crucial towards the success of our students AND our teachers.
Below you will find picture books by behavior, as well as activities that you might want to integrate into your teaching both in the classroom, and online.

Sometimes we take our challenging kiddos, and their behaviors, personally. We think that it's about US, we feel like they can control their behaviors, and that they're doing these things on purpose.
We replay the scenarios over and over in our heads, we vent to our colleagues, and we feel like it took over our entire day.
Use this poster as a reminder. A child's behavior is NOT about YOU. If a child could do better, they would. More than likely, they are lacking the skills to help them achieve this. And it probably wasn't a bad DAY. It was probably a bad few minutes of the day.
