Differentiation Challenge: Chance to win!
Every race driver may reach the finish line in a slightly different way and with a slightly different time. Differences in the car, the path taken (inside or outside turns), and what takes place during a pit spot can all impact the finish.
Similarly, a student's path to mastery does not have to be the same as the student in the next seat. Differentiation allows us to provide work that will meet a student where they are, in order to get them where they need to be. When students have a successful path to learning, everyone will cross the finish line. This newsletter will focus on a variety of classroom practices that can assist with differentiating content and the tools that can support these efforts.
Did You Know?
Did you know that educators can obtain a free license of ReadWrite from TextHelp? This tool allows for read aloud, speech to text, simplifying text, word prediction, screen masking, dictionaries, translation, and highlighting. Students also have access to a free 30-day trial that is pre-approved in the chrome extension store or iPad student self-service. After the trial expires, students will still have access to the read aloud feature.

Monthly Digital Citizenship Lessons
November Digital Citizenship Theme: We find balance in our digital lives.
Today, we live in a world overflowing with digital media and technology. All of us -- adults and kids -- have constant access to real-time information from around the globe. But do the benefits of being ever-connected also come with risks to our mental health? It's an important question to ask -- especially for our kids. Our Media Balance & Well-Being lessons give students the space to reflect on their own media use. Plus, they'll get the tools they need to think critically about how digital media affects our communities and society overall. Read more about this topic on the Common Sense Education website.

Congratulations to our October Newsletter Rigor/Mastery Challenge winner, Misty Bertell, from Alamance Elementary! Mrs. Bertell has won a $50 promotional card for Bravo Italian Kitchen, for submitting a Canvas Quiz that she gave to her students to check for mastery.
Special thanks to Bravo Italian Kitchen, at Friendly Center, for their generous support. We could not do this without our community partners.
