Hemei High School is the only high school in Hemei Township. It is located at the intersection of Taichung and Changhua, two major cities in Taiwan. We have four educational systems: junior high school, junior high school supplementary school, senior high school, and senior high school division of continuing education. The classes in junior high and senior high are divided into regular classes and sports classes, with the sports classes mainly enrolling students majoring in track and field, volleyball, and martial arts.
Established in 1947, Hemei Senior High School was initially a branch of Changhua High School under the Taiwan Provincial Government. In 1956, it became the joint branch of Changhua High School and Lukang High School under the Taiwan Provincial Government, and in 1957, it separated from the association and was officially named Changhua County Hemei Junior High School. In 1968, when the nine-year compulsory education was implemented, it was renamed Changhua County Hemei Junior High School. In 2013, the high school department was established, making it the fifth county high school in Changhua County.
The goal of our school is to cultivate students to become "local leaders" who can bring about changes in their communities. We aim to develop students who deeply understand and love their local area, possess an international perspective, engage in continuous self-learning, and utilize innovative problem-solving abilities to lead the community towards a more beautiful future. Therefore, we hope to cultivate three strengths in our junior high school students: "self-learning ability," "explorative and creative thinking ability," and "positive character development." The high school students, in addition to these three strengths mentioned above, are expected to possess the fourth abilities of "local leaders": "macroscopic insight."
With the vision of "bringing up leaders for a better future," we aim to encourage students to engage in the community, identify with the local area, and play roles as leaders in the community. We strive to make the curriculum an important driving force behind the distinctive features of the community, while the community becomes an important resource for the school, complementing each other. We hope that Hemei High School graduates will become a source of energy for regional or societal leadership and will contribute back to the school, the local area, and society through their actions, thus initiating a positive cycle for a better future.
