I also had my teaching demonstration last March 19, 2024, with my 206 class. It was a significant moment for me as I invited the principal, the director, my academic head, and a few of my local English teachers to join and observe my class. The topic I chose was about the corn dishes in South and Central America and their cultural significance.
To make the lesson more engaging, I prepared realia that the students could interact with, enhancing their understanding and enjoyment of the topic. The activities I had planned were designed to be fun and enjoyable, encouraging active participation from the students. I was delighted to see how enthusiastically the students engaged with the lesson.
I received positive feedback from my observers, including the principal, director, academic head, and some of my local English teacher partners. They appreciated the interactive nature of the lesson and the way I integrated realia into the teaching. However, there were also points for improvement, which I welcomed as valuable insights for my professional growth.
Overall, the teaching demonstration was a rewarding experience. It allowed me to showcase my teaching skills and creativity while also receiving constructive feedback to help me improve. I am grateful for the support and encouragement of my colleagues and look forward to implementing their suggestions in future lessons.
