Overall, my life here in Taiwan has been wonderful and fulfilling because I am surrounded by great people like my principal, director, academic head, co-teachers who are my partners in the classroom, other teachers, non-teaching staff, students, and the community. I am also happy because Taiwan offers a lot of amazing must-visit tourist spots and delicious foods that I need to try – except for the stinky tofu, hehehe. Kidding aside, I can't think of any negative things about Taiwan. In my five months of stay here, I have thoroughly enjoyed my everyday life and look forward to more adventures and fun experiences.
I know there are challenges along the way, like communicating with some locals who are not very proficient in English, being far away from my family, and missing the old habits from my home country. However, I believe that I am here for a purpose. I trust that God placed me here to achieve a goal or purpose. I understand that challenges are a part of life, and maintaining a positive outlook is essential for a better, happier, and more fulfilling life.
In my time here, I've experienced so much warmth and generosity from the people around me. The support from my school community has made my transition smoother and more enjoyable. Taiwan's rich culture, stunning landscapes, and delightful cuisine have added to my positive experience.
Despite the language barrier, I've found ways to communicate and connect with locals. This has enriched my cultural understanding and made me appreciate the beauty of human connection beyond words. Being away from my family has been tough, but it has also taught me independence and resilience. I miss the familiarity of home, but I am excited about the new experiences and growth that come with living abroad.
Every day in Taiwan is an adventure, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be here. The challenges I face are outweighed by the incredible experiences and the wonderful people I have met. I am looking forward to continuing this journey, embracing every moment, and making the most of my time here.
