Food holds a special place in my heart, especially here in Taiwan, where it has become a bridge to forming connections with my colleagues. I am grateful for the invitations to lunch or dinner, not just for the delicious food but for the meaningful conversations that accompany these meals.
In my first few weeks here, I was invited to dinner with my colleagues, and it was a delightful experience. The warmth and hospitality extended to me made me feel truly welcomed and appreciated. Another memorable dinner was with the Parent and Teacher Association at a Chinese restaurant, where I had the pleasure of dining with Sir Tim, a fellow foreign English teacher from New Zealand under the Teach Taiwan Agency.
These dining experiences go beyond just sharing a meal; they are opportunities to forge bonds and create lasting memories. I am touched by the efforts of my colleagues and the community to make me feel at home, even in a foreign land. Each invitation is a reminder of the kindness and generosity that exists in this community, and I am grateful to be a part of it.
