Each month, pupils in Novelties Book Club enjoy discussing and choosing their top reads to share with Moray Libraries.
Their top six titles are shared on a poster, which is displayed in the Children's and Young Adult Library in Elgin Public Library.
The poster is also shared on Moray Libraries social media platforms.
When the birth of a child is registered in Moray, the parent is given the child’s library card. This scheme is called Every Child a Library Member and ensures that no one is missed out. All you need to do is bring the card along to your local library to be activated and then your child can access everything in the public libraries.

Last June, we met Moray Libraries staff to discuss new murals for the children's library.
These were created by our Art department: S1 Elective pupils and S6 pupil Kirsten Wallach.
on 18 June, Mrs Templeton PT Art, Kirsten and Mrs Toonen visited Gillian in the public library: with the finished work!
All for the new murals in the children's library of Elgin Public Library: there are designs for different age groups and include lots of children's and YA books.
Pupils in the Art department created stunning work during their photography elective, which is displayed each year in the public library during Book Week Scotland.
Each month, the pupils in Novelties Book Club recommend books and these are shared on a poster and on social media in the public library.
All our visitors, especially the little ones, enjoyed meeting Bookbug and a lovely session with Laura and Gillian from Moray Libraries.
Look who took up residence on our Reading Throne. Only Bookbug!
The Elgin Public library book selection was fabulous and was on display for our family and community event.
Hello and welcome to Bookbug, who was in our library, with staff from Moray Libraries Team EA Farmers' Market family festive event on Thursday 14 December.
All our visitors, especially the little ones, enjoyed meeting Bookbug and a lovely session with Laura and Gillian from Moray Libraries.
Our little visitors were very 😊 happy!
What a lovely trip, with Kirsten in S6, to the public library in Elgin to meet Charlie, from Moray Libraries, and share progress on the art work and mural for the children's library.
Kirsten shared her designs with Charlie, which are also part of her portfolio for art college.
Feedback: "Love. love this!" And: "So modern and clean".
Soooo many great zines.
Sometimes sharing your voice is making a zine about yourself, and sometimes it's sharing the story of Josh's great adventure battling both tsunami and mutant crab in order to get a babybel! Both are amazing, both were a pleasure to read
Alex and Erin have created Sleeping Beauty, while Max chose Manga and Attack on Titan.
Lucy, Ava and Tegan have a scene from The Hunger Games and Rhys has Spiderman v Venom, whilst Bryden has gone for Shrek the story. Brilliant creativity from the photography class.
Kirsten in S6 shared her designs so far for the new mural in the children's library. These are part of her Advanced Higher Art work and will form her portfolio too.
The S1 Art Elective class is working on designs too.
The public library said: "Lots of work there - superb!"
We dropped off our lovely beach stones and pebbles with the public library staff. These were designed and created by Novelties Book Club pupils. To be used for a reading trail.
The public library staff said:
"Aren't they nice! Well done Novelties!
Mr Davidson, the Operations Librarian, Moray Libraries, said:
"Good to have Elgin Academy pupils involved in our plans to brighten up Elgin Library to enhance our offering as an inclusive and welcoming community space for all."
We are all very excited about this project and the creativity to come.
The Reading Leaders shared their favourite YA books and shared why they think adults should be reading YA books and using them in the classroom and across the curriculum.
Philip Davidson, Community Librarian and Shelagh Toonen, school librarina both delivered presentations to school staff during this collaborative event.
Shared by Philip Davidson, Commuity Librarian.
We are so proud of our Reading Leaders, who delivered a fabulous presentation during the CLPL session on 24 January to our staff.
Books, BookTok and why they choose the books they do.
